Dr. Deb's Story

Having a double mastectomy was emotional; and I prepared myself for that. I experienced a host of emotions—anger, sadness, frustration—the same reactions of millions of women facing breast cancer.

As a doctor, I viewed the surgical process through clinical eyes. What I wasn't prepared for; couldn't be prepared for, was life after my double mastectomy.

I made it through the mastectomy; the hard part. But what nobody talks about is what happens after breast surgery.

I wanted to get back to normal. I wanted to feel normal. I wanted to look normal. But I didn't! I still had pain. Nothing fit. Nothing looked quite right.

I was frustrated. I knew I had to do something.

Fortunately for me, and millions of women in my situation, my frustration propelled me to create Red Thread: clothing that makes women feel normal again. Clothing that gives women confidence.

I created products to solve my problem. Now I want to help other women feel comfortable and confident again.

I hope you enjoy shopping at Red Thread. I am always available to answer your questions and listen to your comments.

Be healthy. Be comfortable. Be confident.
